Life Insurance Benefit

AAA Carolinas provides full-time employees the equivalent of their annual salary in group life insurance and pays the full cost of this benefit (maximum $200,000). Basic Benefit: 1 times Annual Compensation rounded to the next higher $1,000, if not already a multiple thereof. Guaranteed Issue Amount: the lesser of 1 times Annual Compensation or $200,000 Maximum Benefit: the lesser of 1 times Annual Compensation or $200,000. Voluntary Benefit: An amount elected in units of $10,000. Guaranteed Issue Amount: the greater of a) or b) below: a) the lesser of 10 times Annual Compensation or $100,000, or b) an amount equal to the Life Insurance Benefit in effect on the termination date of the Prior Plan.

Voluntary Life Insurance

Employees who want to supplement their group life insurance benefits may purchase additional coverage.

If you decline enrolling in this benefit as a new hire, then an Evidence of Insurability (EOI) application will be required if you later choose to enroll in this benefit during an open enrollment period.

Note: If you are not in Active Service on the date insurance would otherwise go into effect, it will be effective on the date you return to Active Service. If an eligible Spouse or Dependent Child is: 1. an inpatient in a hospital, hospice, rehabilitation or convalescence center, or custodial care facility; or 2.confined to his or her home under the care of a physician on the date insurance would otherwise be effective, it will be effective on the date he or she is no longer an inpatient in these facilities or confined at home.
